Andreas Gesell

Mr. Gesell advises in particular private individuals and families with complex and international asset structures, especially in the areas of tax, corporate and inheritance law. This also includes sustainable advice on succession planning for families. Furthermore, his expertise in M&A tax and corporate tax law makes him a valued contact for medium-sized and large family businesses and their shareholders, as well as company founders (start-ups) in corporate transactions and (re)investments. His open-mindedness towards technological innovations, such as the use of AI, is reflected in his advice and enables him to offer his clients up-to-date solutions.

Prior to joining Andersen, Mr. Gesell practiced tax law as a lawyer at POELLATH. He specialized in German tax law and its implications in cross-border scenarios. He advised private clients on tax issues, including complex self-disclosure declarations. He also focused on group and corporate tax law, tax planning and structuring, and M&A tax. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gesell practiced as inhouse counsel in the legal department of a German automotive manufacturer focusing on regulatory law.

Mr. Gesell completed his studies in Law and European Law at the University of Würzburg, where he also served as a research assistant and full-time lecturer. During his studies and subsequent legal clerkships, Mr. Gesell gained a wide range of experience at the German Notary Institute and in law firms in the areas of transaction and commercial (criminal) law. Moreover, Mr. Gesell has special knowledge in the field of negotiation management and business mediation.

In his private life, Mr. Gesell is a passionate triathlete and enjoys pursuing his multidisciplinary approach also beyond of his profession.
