Daniel Steinhoff

Daniel Steinhoff advises international and national clients on regulatory and liability-related issues. His expertise includes regulatory compliance for payment service providers, banks, and insurance companies, as well as matters related to anti-money laundering and data protection. He also has significant experience in corporate law and director liability, including aspects of white-collar criminal law.

In his current role as Chief Legal & Compliance Officer (responsible for Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management) at a European InsurTech company, as well as his position as a lecturer on (regulatory) risk management at the Hamburg School of Business Administration (HSBA), Mr. Steinhoff brings valuable practical experience to his advisory services.

He studied law in Kiel and completed his legal clerkship in Flensburg, Schleswig, and Hamburg. He has worked for a national law firm and a globally operating bank and payment service provider, focusing on regulatory compliance issues, particularly in developing European and global FinTech partnerships. He holds certifications in anti-money laundering (CAMS) from the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) and data protection (CIPP/E) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Additionally, he is a co-author of a leading commentary on payment services law.
